Mauricio Ramirez is not only an architect of letters; he is also a mastermind when it comes to constructing typography. He blends the art of giving form to signs, letters, and iconic characters in an expressive, harmonious, and skillful manner. I was honored to follow him with my video camera and record every step process he took to complete some of his artworks. This short video is a production that promoted one of his first solo exhibits that took place in Illinois.
This video is a presentation of his life as a street artist that reveals an aspect of his artistic process: starting from inside the working studio, where he creates his utilitarian hand-lettered inscriptions to following him outside in the urban landscape. His unique style and organization of graffiti elements floods the streets and skies.

Brad Balster is an experienced graphic designer, who draws a lot of influences from his surroundings. He combines graphics, illustration, street art, and mass-media to create a unique view of things. In this video I am alongside with Brad Balster, where he demonstrates part of his process inside the working studio. In a way it is the behind the scenes of this method we know as screen-printing.
